The Montessori Fountainhead School was established in Charleston, South Carolina, in 1984 by Nana Fox, a Montessori directress who had her training in Ireland and England, and who founded the first English-speaking Montessori school in Munich, Germany, which was attended over the years by children of fourteen different nationalities.

In addition to her Montessori certification, Mrs. Fox holds a U.S. academic degree in education and psychology. She is a member of the American Montessori Society (A.M.S.). By maintaining strict limitations on the number of children in the class, individual attention to the special requirements of each child is ensured. Through employment of only the best qualified teaching assistants, personally trained by Mrs. Fox, the highest standards of Montessori education are permanently sustained.
